William T. Cahill

Judge Cahill was born in 1901 in Union City, a son to Michael and Elizabeth Cahill. He attended St. Peters Prep. He received his degree from Fordham University and his law degree from Fordham Law School. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1925 and as Counselor in 1932.

He was second assistant Hudson County Prosecutor from 1937 until he enlisted in the Army in 1942. Before becoming assistant prosecutor, he was an active politician within Jersey City's second ward under former Mayor John V. Kenny. He was named a Referee in Bankruptcy in 1947, when the office became a full-time one.

He was a President of the Hudson County Bar Association, and lectured at Upsala College and New York University.

Judge Cahill was married to Mae Walsh Cahill and had three children: William T., Jr., Regina-Sharon, and Michele.
